What have we learnt from the 2016 Sydney Gay Community Periodic Survey?

Each year the ‘Sydney Gay Community Periodic Survey’ (SGCPS – if you like acronyms) is an annual cross-sectional survey that monitors HIV testing, HIV treatment uptake and sexual behaviour among gay and bisexual men recruited at gay community venues in Sydney (bars, saunas, clinics & gyms).

The survey has been running for 20 years (wow) across Australia’s capital cities. Approximately a quarter of all surveys are now completed online.

This research in Sydney is developed, implemented and updated in partnership by the Centre for Social Research in Health (UNSW), ACON, Kirby Institute (UNSW), Positive Life NSW and the NSW Ministry of Health. Let’s dive into some of the more interesting things we’ve learnt about our community:
