About Treatment As Prevention

One ‘treatment as prevention’ topic that causes lots of debate and discussion is the recommendation that people with HIV consider starting treatment earlier than would otherwise be the case. This issue goes to the heart of what treatment is ultimately about – health benefit? Prevention benefit? Or both? And which comes first? The debate can be heated at times but so long as providing the best outcome for people living with HIV is the prime motivation, both sides can be ‘right’.
