The Getting Together workshop is a free, six week peer education workshop designed for single gay men. This interactive workshop gives you the chance enhance your communication skills, networking, identity, learn about the gay scene and community and HIV and sexual health. You’ll hear from quest speakers first-hand about the experience of being gay and HIV positive in Sydney today and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) in the gay community. You’ll also hear from a diverse group of gay men community panel of gay men on different ways of being involved in the LGBTI community.

Topics covered:

Week 1: Introduction and Values
Week 2: Identity and Networking
Week 3: Living with HIV/Sex and Sexual Health
Week 4: HIV and Communication
Week 5: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Communication
Week 6: The scene/Community Panel

What you’ll get from the workshop:

Increased positive attitudes towards identity, sexuality and community.
HIV awareness and sexual health education, knowledge and information on where to get tested.
The chance to get into some often complex topics in an open, safe and comfortable space, meet new people and expand your social networks.
