Youth History Walk

Was there camp life before gay bars?
What actually happened at the first Mardi Gras?
Where was first meeting about AIDS held in Sydney after the epidemic struck?

 

These are just some of the questions that will be answered on the 2014 Youth History Walk.

 

Come along for a FREE guided tour of sites of cultural significance for LGBTI people within the Kings Cross, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills and Paddington area.

 

Lecturer Robert French will present an overview of key social, political and public health developments within this area and illustrate how local populations of LGBTIs have been affected by key historical changes.

Saturday 8 February, 10:30am – 12:30pm

 

Where:
Starts at Paddington Town Hall, 249 Oxford St

 

Who for?:
Young gay, bisexual and same-sex attracted men, young lesbian, bisexual and same-sex attracted women, transgender and other sexually and gender diverse young individuals (26 and under)
