La causan dos virus diferentes, pero estrechamente relacionados:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Virus del herpes simple tipo 1 (VHS-1): <\/strong>Com\u00fanmente conocido como herpes labial, el herpes de tipo 1 suele transmitirse por contacto de piel con piel por contacto, besos y, a veces, hasta por tener sexo oral.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Virus del herpes simple tipo 2 (VHS-2): <\/strong>Com\u00fanmente conocido como herpes genital, el herpes de tipo 2 suele contagiarse cuando hay penetraci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tener herpes de tipo 2 (VHS-2) puede suponer un mayor riesgo de transmisi\u00f3n del VIH. Las llagas que se desarrollan tienen m\u00e1s probabilidades de infectarse con el VIH durante el sexo. Cuando te sale una llaga, el sistema inmunitario intenta curarla, por lo que hay muchas c\u00e9lulas inmunitarias concentradas en ese punto. \u00c9sas son las c\u00e9lulas que el VIH infecta. Si el VIH presente en el semen, el flujo vaginal o la sangre entra en contacto con una \u00falcera por herpes, el riesgo de infecci\u00f3n es alto.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfCU\u00c1LES SON LOS S\u00cdNTOMAS?<\/h2>\n<p>A veces, no hay s\u00edntomas asociados al herpes. Sin embargo, pueden aparecer algunos s\u00edntomas, que suelen manifestarse entre dos y siete d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de la exposici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso del herpes de tipo 1 (VHS-1), los s\u00edntomas pueden comenzar con hormigueo o picor, seguidos de llagas o ampollas alrededor de la boca (herpes labial) o en el pene, el orificio frontal o el ano. Si te salen ampollas, normalmente se formar\u00e1n costras.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso del herpes de tipo 2 (VHS-2), los s\u00edntomas se manifiestan en forma de llagas, ampollas dolorosas u hormigueo cerca del ano, el pene, el orificio frontal o los test\u00edculos.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n puedes experimentar:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dolor muscular<\/li>\n<li>Fiebre<\/li>\n<li>Dolor de cabeza<\/li>\n<li>N\u00e1useas<\/li>\n<li>S\u00edntomas gripales<\/li>\n<li>Gl\u00e1ndulas inflamadas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00d3MO ME HAGO EL TEST?<\/h2>\n<p>Es muy f\u00e1cil. Si tienes s\u00edntomas, habla con tu m\u00e9dico o acude a tu centro de salud sexual para que te hagan un test de herpes. El m\u00e9dico tendr\u00e1 que hacer un hisopado de las ampollas o llagas y, por lo general, ofrecer\u00e1 un test completo de detecci\u00f3n de ITS. Si el test arroja un diagn\u00f3stico positivo, es importante buscar tratamiento inmediatamente.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00d3MO ME PUEDO TRATAR?<\/h2>\n<p>El herpes no tiene cura y permanece en el organismo toda la vida. Sin embargo, tu m\u00e9dico puede prescribirte tratamientos que reducir\u00e1n los s\u00edntomas y acelerar\u00e1n tu recuperaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, si tienes herpes, los s\u00edntomas pueden reaparecer, sobre todo si tu sistema inmunitario est\u00e1 bajo de defensas o en momentos de estr\u00e9s. Es probable que los brotes (reaparici\u00f3n de los s\u00edntomas) sean menos frecuentes con el tiempo. La mejor manera de evitar los brotes es llevar una dieta sana y descansar bien. Se puede recurrir a la medicaci\u00f3n si aparecen brotes frecuentes.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfC\u00d3MO PUEDO REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE CONTRAER HERPES?<\/h2>\n<p>Al igual que ocurre con todas las ITS, puedes reducir las probabilidades de contraer herpes simplemente evitando el contacto de piel con piel con cualquier persona que presente s\u00edntomas visibles y, si mantienes relaciones sexuales, la mejor forma de reducir la transmisi\u00f3n es <a href=\"https:\/\/endinghiv.org.au\/es\/stay-safe\/all-about-condoms\/\">usando cond\u00f3n<\/a>, no solo para cubrir el pene, sino tambi\u00e9n los juguetes sexuales que uses. As\u00ed que, procura tenerlos a mano siempre que entres en acci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfY SI TENGO VIH?<\/h2>\n<p>Si eres una persona que vive con VIH y tienes herpes, tu sistema inmunitario puede estar debilitado. En este caso, tu infecci\u00f3n por herpes puede ser m\u00e1s grave, con brotes m\u00e1s frecuentes que quienes sean VIH negativos.<\/p>\n<h2>SI TOMO LA PREP, \u00bfC\u00d3MO ME AFECTAR\u00c1 EL HERPES?<\/h2>\n<p>Puedes contraer herpes mientras est\u00e9s tomando la PrEP. La <a href=\"https:\/\/endinghiv.org.au\/es\/stay-safe\/prep\/\">PrEP<\/a> es una herramienta muy eficaz para no contraer VIH, pero no ofrece protecci\u00f3n frente al herpes y otras ITS. <a href=\"https:\/\/endinghiv.org.au\/es\/stay-safe\/all-about-condoms\/\">Los condones<\/a> con abundante lubricante pueden ayudar a reducir el riesgo de contraer herpes de tipo 2 (VHS-2).<\/p>\n<h2>DATOS B\u00c1SICOS SOBRE EL HERPES<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>El herpes puede aumentar el riesgo de contraer e VIH.<\/li>\n<li>El herpes puede contagiarse a trav\u00e9s de la penetraci\u00f3n, el sexo oral o el contacto de piel con piel.<\/li>\n<li>Puede transmitirse, aunque no se presenten s\u00edntomas.<\/li>\n<li>La mejor forma de evitar contraer herpes es usando cond\u00f3n siempre que haya contacto sexual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El herpes es una infecci\u00f3n de transmisi\u00f3n sexual bastante com\u00fan entre hombres gay en Australia.
