Pre-exposure Prophylaxis or PrEP is a combination of antiretroviral medicines that are used to treat HIV. Research has shown that if it’s taken every day by an HIV-negative person, it’s highly effective at preventing HIV transmission, with a risk reduction of at least 95%.
ACON will be hosting a special community Q&A in Sydney on October 22nd where a panel of experts will discuss the latest developments in relation to PrEP before taking questions from the floor.
