a[TEST] is a sexual health clinic for guys who have sex with guys, located in the hub of Sydney’s gay district; Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. The clinic offers rapid HIV testing and a full STI screen for cis and trans men, for free!
Besides being in a prime location and with accessible opening hours, the service is operated by gay guys from the community – something you won’t find in other places like GPs and hospitals.
Who can test for HIV with a[TEST]?
We welcome all gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (both cis and trans), regardless of HIV status or background. Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming space for men to test for HIV and STIs anonymously, so that they can continue to play safely.
Why book a HIV and STI test at a[TEST]?
Getting a rapid HIV test is quick and convenient and the screening of other STIs such as syphilis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia are included in your visit. The clinic is located within walking distance from Museum train station and to many bus stops of various routes.
All a[TEST] services are run by peer educators, guys who are active in the community, so talking about your sex life shouldn’t be a stress. You can be sure to get your testing done in a judgment-free space which is confidential, and depending on your HIV and STI results, be connected to any necessary support or resources you may need.
End to end, your entire appointment will only take about 30 minutes, so you can easily plan around work, study and other commitments.
What are the operating hours?
The Oxford Street a[TEST] clinic is open 6 days a week, including evening hours until 7pm.
Operating hours are:
Monday to Friday: 11am to 6:30pm
Saturday: 11:30am to 2:30pm
Sunday: closed
The centre is located at 167 Oxford Street is wheelchair accessible.

Can I test if I don’t live in Sydney?
We welcome all men who have sex with men to test for HIV and STIs at our a[TEST] clinics, regardless of where they live. If you’re able to travel to any of our locations, you can book a test with a[TEST].
